He summoned those whom he wanted and they came to him

Todays Readings - http://www.usccb.org/bible/readings/012012.cfm

It's been a while since my last blog. It's been busy at work and getting ready for the baby. So, please pray for us.

In my walk with the Holy Spirit, there have been good and bad times. There have been people who opposes whatever message I am trying to deliver, and there have been some who are open to the message of the Gospel. Either way, I do not condemn people, I still love them just the way Christ love us. Though it may be an awkward situation, I still pray for them. The First Reading today, is a good example of what we are to do, if people wish us harm or is opposed to us. David, even though he had the chance to kill Saul, evaluated the whole situation and thought of God first before making any decision, and did not do any harm to Saul. Think about what would happen if he had tried to strike Saul...what if he wakes up?...or if he did kill Saul, how would he feel in the end?

Every day we are confronted with a fork road. We encounter situation or people that are not so nice, annoying, rude, disrespectful...etc. And believe me, I get easily annoyed by them. But then I try to re-evaluate the whole situation. I am not better than them, and I have my own faults too. So instead of retaliating wickedness with wickedness, I just try to pray in silent and bless them, and move away from it. It hasn't been that easy, because I still get riled up sometimes, but who said it's easy to follow Jesus? Only by the grace of God can I do things I could not do before.

In the Gospel, Jesus summoned those whom he wanted, and called them by name, not by physical appearance or wealth or capability. Some of them are tax collectors, fishermen...etc., but one common denominator is that they are all sinners. So based on the Gospel, let's meditate on these questions today. Do you believe that Jesus called you by name? Do you believe that Jesus wants you to follow Him?

Jesus loves you!
