After the Life in the Spirit Seminar, I have this burning
desire to read the bible, I just can’t stop reading. In the past, I have had
frustration reading them because I was lazy and sometimes I could not
understand them, and sometimes I don’t see the connection or application of the
bible era, stories or parables to our daily life. But recently, and especially
with Daily Readings, the words have been jumping out of the bible, it just
started making sense. I have a deeper and renewed love and interest in reading
the bible. And so, by the grace of God, and with the help of the Holy Spirit, I
shall write them down, and hopefully it will bring blessing to other people as
well, as we journey with the Bible, for ignorance of the bible is ignorance of
Christ. So let’s read and turn off those TV’s!:)

Daily Readings –
Gospel – Luke 16:1-8
The
gospel reading is about a rich man with a servant that was squandering his
property. The rich man found out and had told the servant that he will remove
him from his post. The servant knowing that he will be removed from the post,
and knowing that he’s not strong enough to work or beg, went to all his
master’s debtors and gave them promissory notes, lessening their debts with the
master. And so the master commended the servant for acting prudently.
So I
tried to reflect on it and told myself “I
absolutely do not understand what it means”, he squandered his property, gave debtors promissory notes and that was
good in the masters eyes? So I prayed and asked the Holy Spirit for
guidance, then all of sudden it just clicked in my head! Wow! I said! This is something! This is a gold mine! So I
shared it with my loving wife, and I said I shall share it with other
people as well.
And so
here is what Jesus revealed to me in Luke 16:1-8. Before, during and after
the LSS, I have been asking God to reveal to me my sins, my past hurts, and
people that I have hurt. And with the grace of God, I got the courage to ask
for forgiveness and say I’m sorry to some of the people I have hurt, but this
is just the beginning, I am still a work in progress, but the most important
thing first is that I asked God for forgiveness and by the power of the Holy
Spirit, that I release that person from the hurt or wrongdoing I inflicted on
them and on me. There are days when it’s just too difficult and awkward
especially when you are dealing with your own family. You may be asking, why do
I do this? Well because our shepherd told me to! Kidding aside…because I love
Jesus, because it glorifies God that He has given me the grace to humble myself
and ask for forgiveness. When you love someone, you will do everything and
anything to be close to that person. And this is my way of getting closer to
Jesus. And that was my revelation in relation to the gospel.
You’re
probably asking now, so what is the connection of the gospel to your sad life
story? Ok, I am taking out the suspense now. The rich master is Jesus, the
servant who squandered the money is me (and you), the promissory note is when
you ask for forgiveness from the people you hurt and the debtors are all the
people we have hurt and offended and list of sins goes on. It pleases God, when
you ask for forgiveness in the same manner that the master is delighted when
the servant handed out promissory notes. Debtors, because we are all indebted
to God, we all fall short and we all have sinned.
So
there it is, I hope you find blessing in this little journey of mine. By the
grace of God, I shall write down every revelation that I get when I get the
chance so that we may all be blessed and inspired by God. All I ask is that you
remember me and my family in your prayers. Jesus loves you!
